Meet the Authors

Dr. Debbi Bloomquist and Jamie Pafford, with decades of combined experience in science education, co-created The Tree Lab Trio, an interactive science graphic novel series for kids ages 5-10. Debbi, a former science teacher and current principal, understands how challenging it can be to spark a love for science in young learners. Through hands-on, inquiry-based learning, she hopes to make science an exciting adventure for kids, teachers, and parents alike.

 

Jamie, with over 15 years of experience in both formal and informal education, thrives on creating opportunities for students to explore and experiment. Her enthusiasm for hands-on learning and fostering curiosity made her the perfect co-author for The Tree Lab Trio, where she seeks to inspire future generations of scientists.

 

Debbi lives in Ohio with her husband, Frank, and their dog, Addy, a local school celebrity. She enjoys spending time with her grown twins, Kennedy and Tanner—the inspiration for the twin characters in The Tree Lab Trio. Jamie, also in Ohio, lives with her husband, Glen, and their three kids, Lilly, Lucy, and George. The families enjoy staying active and exploring the outdoors.
